i just really don’t even understand what the writers are doing anymore
like, rebuilding chair, obviously
but I figured they wouldn’t get back together until season 6
so what the fuckkkkkkk even
They obviously have some big plotty reason to rush through all of this. It’s totally the opposite of how they normally write Chair, normally they drag their story lines out to the point of torture. (S2 and S4 especially.) That they’re powering through not only Chuck changing but also Blair realizing Chuck has changed is genuinely weird to me, so I assume it’s setup for something stupid.
Gossip Girl is plot driven, not character driven, etc.
Well… this is true. I do not understand why they’ve done this to Elena’s character. ghgg
I don’t think it’s a bad thing that Elena let Stefan go. She spent the first half of S3 trying to get him back, but (as far as she knows) all of her efforts failed. And it seems like the show is telling us Elena is right to let Stefan go. When Elena told Damon that Rebekah loves Klaus recklessly and blindly, it was clear that Elena realized she could just as easily be talking about herself. Stefan told Elena that Lexie’s actions could be a glimpse of her own future, if she couldn’t let go.
When it comes down to it, never giving up on someone can be both a strength *and* a weakness, and TVD has to find a balance. Gossip Girl failed with Blair. I don’t want to see that happen to Elena.
