Hey I love Dair and I love your blog !!! Do you think it was Dan who sent the video ??
I don’t know. I’m going back and forth. There are verbal cues that Dan sent the video, like the scene where Chuck suggests that Dan is more likely to ruin the wedding than he is and the scene where Georgina says that Dan is a good liar. But Dan’s own behavior doesn’t match up. Right before Georgina says Dan is a good liar, we see how unnatural he is lying to Serena over the phone. Dan doesn’t seem guilty to me; Blair says the video ruined everything, and Dan has no reaction. He seems put upon several times, and he’s really incensed at being treated like “the bad guy” at the hotel. Dan is self-righteous, but there’s no way he wouldn’t feel guilt for sending the video and responsible for Blair’s situation, and I also don’t think he’d deflect the blame to Chuck. When Dan walked down the aisle, all he seems to be occupied with is the fact that people think he and Serena are really dating whereas Serena is super guilty over telling Chuck about the pact. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
If Dan did send the video, then I think it was just for a cheap twist and the writers didn’t put much thought into the gross implications of the story line. They may just be using it as a callback to the premiere when Dan got super excited to be Blair’s white knight even though he knew Louis was out and about helping him, but this is a much! bigger! deal! and Dan was disgruntled the whole time at how Blair was treating him. My guess would be that they wanted to address the issues with Blair treating Dan as her last resort friend in this episode but needed an OMFG twist, and they stupidly didn’t think they needed to pick between those story lines, that it was enough to plant a few textual clues without having any of Dan’s behavior line up at all.
